BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
We are an active society with members throughout Cornwall. There are also a number of out of county members.

KEEPING MEMBERS INFORMED
Our members keep in touch through this regularly updated website with it's RSS feed. There is a Members Area of our website where archive material can be accessed.

KEEPING MEMBERS IN CONTACT
Our members keep in contact through our WCAS Bulletin board. Members may propose new message boards and act as Moderators.

PUBLICATIONS
We have a monthly newsheet, Eros, which contains short reports of observations and details about coming events, please click here to view a recent edition. We also publish Triton twice yearly, which contains members' views on a wide range of astronomical issues and observations, it is a more detailed publication than Eros.

REGULAR MEETINGS
We meet twice a month in Falmouth and Camborne. All are very welcome, from absolute beginners to those who have some experience. We have video projection equipment which we use at meetings to share member's digital images and to support presentations.

All speakers, whether professional or amateur astronomers, are aware of the varied backgrounds of our members and tailor their talks accordingly. Our meeting dates, venues, and past meeting reports can be found on the meetings page.

Members are asked to bring binoculars to each meeting. If the skies are clear we like to have a quick tour of the night sky.

ACCESS TO THE FAULKES TELESCOPES
Through our partnership with the CPR Learning Centre at Camborne we are able to access the Faulkes Telescope in Hawaii. Members are invited to contribute to the planning of observing sessions and can access the raw data and perform their own image processing. Please visit our gallery to see our images from the Faulkes Telescope.

WEBCAM ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY
A number of our members are active observers and are exploring the use of webcams to obtain digital images. Please visit our gallery.

LUNAR 100 CHALLENGE
A number of our members are working together to capture images of each feature on the Lunar 100 list.

EQUIPMENT LOANS
The Society has a collection of telescopes and other equipment which can be borrowed for fortnightly periods throughout the year. There is a small hire charge.

BASIC HELP and ADVICE
None of us would claim to be experts, but we do have some well-established members who may be able to provide help and advice. So if you want help in choosing or using a telescope please come along.

We hope that you enjoy looking through our website and that you join us for one of our meetings.

Visitors to Cornwall are very welcome to attend our meetings, please contact us first to confirm any last minute arrangements.
