FTN April 2006 - Brian Thomas The FTN has been plagued by bad weather. All our attempts to use the telescope since last November have had to be postponed. Brian reviewed the planned observation session for 28/4/06. The objects are the same as those for March 2006. Details are in our Members Area. New members were able to see our Stary Night Pro in use in planning the session.
What Our Eyes Cannot See - Brian Thomas Brian reminded members of the full extent of the electromagnetic spectrum and showed some stunning images obrained from the Spitzer satellite observatory looking at the infra-red portion of the spectrum and at images obtained from the Chandra probe which detects X-rays.
Astronomy Round-Up - Brian Thomas Brian showed some very detailed initial images obtained from the Mars Reconnaisance Orbiter and from Casinni which has recently sent back stunning pictures of the south pole of Jupiter. A full article on the Cassini image can be found on the Universe Today Website.
Time - The Hidden Dimensions of the Missing Physics - Frank Costello One of Frank's relatives is about to publish a book on Tempo Field Theory. Frank spoke enthusiastically about his relative's work. This book will provide 'a fresh and exciting insight on Time, Energy and Light, complying with observation and experiment'. Details are about to be published on the Internet. The Tempo Field Theory website will be available from 14/4/06.
