MEETING REPORT: THURSDAY 20th JULY 2006
Autumn Meetings - David Taylor
The Vice-Chairman David Taylor outlined the arrangements for the autumn meetings of the Society, namely that Falmouth meetings will continue to convene at the Memorial Hall, Mawnan Smith, till the end of 2006, on the first Wednesday of the month, with the exception of September, when it will be held on the first Thursday, September 7, due to a conflict of bookings.It has been agreed with Sue Sayer at the CPR Space Learning Centre that we will meet there in September, October and November on the third Thursday of the month, but no meeting in December as usual.

The John Noble Telescope - David Taylor
David described the progress that he had made with the "John Noble" telescope which had been donated to the Society,which looks promising as an asset to the Society's group practical observation sessions in Mawnan Smith.

The Night Sky - Robin Hughes
At the meeting, there was cosiderable interest in what was visible in the summer sky at the moment,and Robin Hughes gave an excellent round trip of the Sky using the "Starry Night" programme on the Society Laptop, highlighting objects visible even in standard binoculars. In the Resources section of our website in General Observing Guides there is a link to a site on observing with binoculars.

The Borg Refractor - Darren Rundell
Darren described the progress that he had made with the Society's Borg Refractor.
