Thursday 20th October, CPR Learning Centre, Camborne.

WebCam Astrophotography - Robin Hughes
Robin presented his first images using a Philips WebToUcam. This included the society's first reported autumn image of Mars, three lunar images and an image of the Sun showing sunspots. These images may be viewed in our gallery in the webcam section.

Planetary Probe Update - Brian Thomas
Brian showed some recent images sent back to Earth by the Cassinni probe. These were of Dione and Rhea, obtained during a Cassinni fly-by of Dione. Also some first images from the NASA Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter which is on it's way to Mars. These images were obtained as part of the imager calibration programme, and were of our moon from a distance of 10 million km. They showed the massive potential of the imaging systems.
