MEETING REPORT: THURSDAY 17th NOVEMBER 2005
The Lunar 100 Challenge - Robin Waddling
Robin Waddling talked through the scheme and members viewed the website to see the new style observation log. A number of features that have been captured by members will be added to the log. These include No76 - W. Bond, a large diamond-shaped crater, with a young impact crater W Bond B which has a diameter of some 15km. This had been photgraphed, using a webcam, on the 12th November by Lesley Milner and Robin Waddling and a few hours later by Brian Thomas. Although the scheme has only been going for a couple of weeks we already have a dozen or so images. No doubt many more will be found in the coming months.

Cassini's Latest Pictures of Hyperion - Lesley Milner
Lesley Milner guided members to various websites where the latest images of Hyperion could be found. It's spongy external appearance is hard to explain. There are many impact craters on the surface and the interior would appear be lots of empty space.
Details can be found on the BBC website and on UniverseToday.com.
